Here are some of my speaking engagements, media appearances and other projects that I have been involved in as a practicing music therapist, educator, professional musician and music enthusiast:
2020
- Joined the faculty at Aaron School, a private K-12 special education school, as the elementary and middle school music teacher
2019
- Served as the music teacher to 335 students enrolled in Pre-K through Grade 4 at East Harlem Scholars Academy II during the 2018-2019 school year, and produced two all-school performance showcases
2018
- Completed Music Together® teacher training with special focus on early childhood music lesson-planning, movement and song-leading for children from birth through age 5
2017
- Presented a skills development workshop about incorporating multicultural songs and themes in music therapy sessions with children at the Mid-Atlantic Region of the American Music Therapy Association (MAR-AMTA) conference in Rochester, NY, and Canadian Association of Music Therapists national conference in Vancouver, BC
- Music therapy program at Hassenfeld Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders was spotlighted in New York Daily News print article and Fox 5 NY News (WNYW) broadcast television segment, and visited by cast members from Beautiful: The Carole King Musical
2016
- Presented a guest lecture about incorporating music therapy in recreation therapy settings (with special emphasis on working with older adults with dementia) to Introduction to Therapeutic Recreation class at CUNY / Bronx Community College
- Participated in New York University’s Summer Songwriters Workshop, a ten-day intensive seminar dedicated to the art of songwriting and taught by industry experts
- Attended Song Arts Academy’s Advanced Writers Forum, taught by highly sought-after songwriting coach Billy Seidman
- Completed Leadership in the Arts course presented by Colorado State University’s renowned LEAP Institute for the Arts
- Awarded a grant in the amount of $9775 from Pediatric Cancer Foundation to expand the music therapy program at Hassenfeld Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders

- Music therapy treatment provided to a nine-year old patient with a blood disorder was featured in one of three videos comprising of a #GivingTuesday ad campaign that raised nearly $60,000 benefiting children’s services at NYU Langone Medical Center
2011
- Delivered a workshop about using an original therapeutic songwriting intervention with bereaved siblings in grief support groups, as part of Child Life of Greater New York’s annual professional development conference
- Presented as part of a panel at Therapeutic Career Paths with Young Children event hosted by CUNY / New York City Early Childhood Professional Development Institute
- Delivered “Music Therapy and Pediatric Medical Illness” guest lecture to Trauma in the Life of the Child class at New York University
2010
- Interviewed about using music therapy to promote rehabilitation on SiriusXM Radio’s Doctor Radio live broadcast program
- Presented a master class about using an original music therapy method based on audio loops and samples to address IEP goals in special education classrooms at the Expressive Therapies Summit conference in New York City
2009
- Directed The Valley Voices Choir of Langley Lodge (residential care and assisted living facility) in their performance at a black-tie fundraiser gala sponsored by The Rotary Clubs of Langley, as featured in Langley Advance Times
2008
- Designed and implemented the KidSafe After-School Music Program for at-risk children in Vancouver’s inner-city, as featured on CTV News and Shaw Multicultural Channel broadcast television segments
